73 x 30 x 24”
Laser-cut wood, string, vellum, printed maps, paint, glass beads, lights

Designed for display above the client’s dining table, as part of a full kitchen/dining remodel. Over 3,000 paper leaves are comprised of a mixture of translucent green vellum and textured cardstock. The cardstock leaves are printed with topographical maps from places the client and their family have lived. The layered wood structure features delicate branches, a trunk, and a sprawling root system to give the illusion of an inverted tree hanging from the ceiling. 12 LED lights are incorporated into the structure to give in inner glow through the paper leaves.

9 x 4.5 x 3'
Wood, aluminum, lighting, vellum, cardstock, string, beads

Designed to fit the two-story entryway without obstructing views of the open stairwell, this kinetic sculpture complements the modern architecture of the client’s Mt. Adams home. The canopy houses 5 LED lights, which create an amazing ambient glow. The piece moves and sways in the slightest breeze, illustrating the feeling of dance. Among the hanging pieces are hidden dancing figures, prints of vintage maps of Cincinnati, and other visual symbols that reflect personal elements of the client’s life and family. The cascade of paper and light welcomes visitors as they enter the front door, drawing their view upward to an artwork that makes a statement without overwhelming the space.
